About

Mark is a designer who spent his first working decade at big London agencies making things prettier, trendier, bolder, more in your face, more sellable, smaller, larger and so on, until he decided there’s a better way. So he’s now running a small scale, hands-on studio of his own with his wife Nathalie (who joined him in escaping from agency life).

Having moved at an impressionable age from English village life to the fast paced world of Asia, a strong business ethic still influences all he does. His clients appreciate that he has a good understanding of design in a commercial context (albeit now living back in English village life, with two kids who wonder why he can’t just do ‘normal’ work, in an office in a big city maybe).

His focus these days is on helping small businesses and startups to achieve their full potential through design, rather than languish in a make-do approach to their branding and websites forever. He does this through high quality, unpretentious creative work at Bowley Design and will be starting Creative WakeUps for 2012 – a range of services and a blog aimed at empowering small businesses to improve their branding and websites.
